Galangal has been said to be useful with flatulence, dyspepsia, vomiting stomach sickness, and sea-sickness. Galangal is an important ingredient in Abramelin oil and incense, where it acts as an uncommon binder between the male cinnamon and female myrrh.
Traditionally Galangal has been associated with Mars because of its ability to excite one sexually, but there is something quite different at work here. Galangal is the scent of the menstruating Priestess in her power, which both excites and frightens the male. When unitiated men feel threatened by a female, they seek to subdue that female, which is a very Martial reaction. Most only notice the desire and fear of the male and call this herb Mars, but the male reaction is to the effect in the female of her power and not to the herb. The herb is acting through the female, onto the male.
This is herb grade galangal.
